This song is very close to my family and my heart. It all started many years ago with my grandmother Mary Cote wrote a poem during World
War II. Through the years it was stored away as a memory of those very sad times. It was written from her heart and soul and quite cherished. We all were together one day after our September 11th tragedy; and we all were discussing how we all were feeling at that time. My grandmother had been quiet but suddenly spoke out. She told us of the poem she had created all those years ago
and how the war had made her feel.
That nite my mother Laura Smith was so moved
by our conversation that it inspired her, so with my grandmothers permission she then added her thoughts, since she too had remembered and had lived through that war.
In her mind though she thought she really needed to share a message to all her children and her grandchildren. Teach them how difficult those times had been and encouraging them through her words to take a step back and to learn from the past. So she very lovingly put the words
together and created this beautiful song. I was then called into this loving project and read what had been written. I was so moved by the words that creating a melody for it was very easy and instantly in my heart.
My grandmother Mary, my mother Laura and myself sincerely hope you will capture the message we are trying to give.
With God as our inspiration and the love of our beautiful USA; we are extremely proud to share with you our sisters and brothers
"Don't Let Us Fall."
God Bless You and Our Great United States Of America!
